The Houghton Gremlins made the trip down the hill to take on the Westwood Patriots in Girls Basketball action Friday night in Westwood. A tough game ahead of the Lady Patriots as Houghton comes to town with a slightly taller squad, but Coach Tom Hammer told Joe Duckworth before the game that defense and rebounds will be the key, and to not get caught in the early run & gun of the young Lady Gremlins.
It was a tight game through the end of the 1st with Houghton leading by a bucket 10-8, but Westwood had a lot of shots that wouldn’t drop from the wood or the free throw line, but the Gremlins capitalized at the charity strip to take a 24-19 lead going into the locker room at the half.

The Westwood Patriot return to the airwaves Monday night as the Westwood Patriot Girls travel to Iron Mountain to take on the Mountaineers Monday January 17th.
